Inter Miami vs. Atlanta United – Match Preview, Prediction

If Inter Miami wins or draws against Atlanta United at Chase Stadium on Wednesday, they will set a franchise record for the longest unbeaten run in MLS in a single season.

A 2-1 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday moved the Herons to the top of the Supporters Shield standings, just one point ahead of FC Cincinnati. In contrast, Atlanta United’s winless run reached nine games with a 1-0 home loss to Los Angeles FC.

Miami lost Diego Gomez (ankle sprain) and Robbie Robinson (knee problem) over the weekend, and Facundo Frias is out for the season with a torn ACL.

Ian Frey is close to returning from an ACL injury, Serhiy Krivtsov played Saturday’s entire match despite a previous shift, and Federico Redondo made his first appearance since an ACL injury, replacing Benjamin Cremaschi in the second half. Robert Taylor scored his third goal of the season and Leonardo Campana scored the winner for the second consecutive game.

Atlanta will be without starting goalkeeper Brad Guzan, who received a red card last week. Noah Cobb missed the last game with an ankle injury and leading scorer Giorgos Gikomakis is out with a strained hamstring. Nicolas Firmino is a doubt after twisting his hip during the US Open Cup win against the Charleston Battery.
