Ronaldo, 39, scored 35 goals in a brilliant performance, surpassing Morocco’s Abderrazak Hamdallah’s record of 34 goals in a season, which Hamdallah set with Al Nassr in the 2018-19 season.

Goals from Ronaldo and Sadio Mane helped Al Nassr reach the final after beating Al Khaleej 3-1 in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, 10-man Al Hilal beat Al Ittihad 2-1 despite the dismissal of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic just before half-time.

After winning the championship and the Saudi Arabian Super Cup, Al Hilal are looking to win the national triple crown. Al Nassr will be hoping to take advantage of their last chance to win a trophy this season, having already won the Arab Club Champions Cup this season.
